“Have Travel Jewelry Box – Will Travel!”

It all starts so innocently, doesn’t it? For years, the heart-shaped jewelry box you received as a gift worked just fine. A ‘jewelry drawer’ in the dresser made up for the overflow.

Then the prospect of that “trip” came up. You couldn’t possibly dump your jewelry for the trip into a shoe box and feel that you belong in that classy hotel. No big deal – get a travel jewelry box.

No big deal? Who are you kidding? You go online and, rather lethargically, type in “travel jewely box”.

Your eyes widen a little, the nostrils flare. As you scroll down, the jaw gets limp, but the corners of the mouth are definitely turned UP! Well, there’s certainly a lot to choose from. REALLY a lot! How DO you choose? The heart starts palpitating. Panic!

Then you scroll just a little too far, and you’re past the travel jewelry box section – and your jaw drops as you discover majesty personified; the armoire jewelry box! Rows and rows of them. A gush of air escapes your lungs; you know exactly what you’re going to do when you get back from that trip! For now, back to the travel jewelry box.

You have been bitten and there’s no escape. The butterfly has burst the cocoon!

How Do You Choose A Travel Jewelry Box?

Leather. You’ll go for leather. There’s a roll-up travel jewelry box. There’s a fold-up one. There’s a travel jewelry box that closes like a suitcase, with little compartments inside; there’s another that has little compartments that pull out of the sides. There’s hard leather and soft leather – and (catch your breath) Suede!

There’s a travel jewelry box that looks like a vanity case, including the mirror. No, correction, there are rows and rows of vanity case travel jewelry boxes! Round ones and square ones, chunky ones and elegant ones.

Calm down. What do I need? …. Oh, to blazes with what I need! What do I want?

Okay, I’m going to be staying in a hotel. That elegant leather travel jewelry box in the vanity style, with six layers and a gorgeous mirror will look wonderful on the sumptuous hotel dresser; but who is going to see it who won’t be tempted to steal it? No sense in advertising! But it is gorgeous. Hey, who said one should only have one? Focus. This trip.

If I’m going to hide it, it needs to be neat and easy to pack away. Okay, tough or soft? Suede. Oh, yes, I can feel it ….gently caressing my jewelry. Ah, yes. (Sigh)
